Greenstone Slate® Vermont Gray Black roofing slate installed on Florida beachfront residence

Florida roofing contractor Cartercraft Roofing Inc. selected Greenstone’s Vermont Gray Black S1-rated genuine roofing slate for this Spanish-architectural beachside residence. Vermont Gray Black is drawn from Greenstone’s Briar Hill Quarry in Vermont and is one of the most popular of the slate colors because of its traditional appearance. For this project, 18″ x random-width, standard-grade slates were specified.

Slate is a great alternative to tile roofs.  Installing Greenstone Slate® genuine Vermont roofing slate adds durability and longevity. A Greenstone ASTM S1 slate roof is rated to last at least 75 to 100 years—the reason why it’s called the 100-year roof. Vermont slate quality enables Greenstone to provide a 100-year warranty! Another benefit is Greenstone Slate has both Miami Dade and Florida Building Code (FBC) approvals for use as a roofing material in all areas including hurricane zones making it an excellent choice for this Florida beachfront residence.
