145 squares of 12″ x random-width, standard-grade slates were installed using the SlateTec lightweight installation method. The SlateTec lightweight genuine slate roof system is an innovative approach to installing a genuine slate roof with 40% less weight. SlateTec’s very rugged—and patented—interlayment allows for far less slate overlap than what is required for a traditional install. With less overlap smaller slates can be used which lowers the roof weight with no visual difference in aesthetics. All the traditional slate roof options are available including random widths, color blends, drop downs, and staggers.
